History

Edx Education was established in 1996 in Taipei, Taiwan. The initial mission of Edx Education was to source educational products from Asia for the early childhood and primary school markets in Australia.

Why open up in Taiwan? For educational products, Taiwan is a major manufacturing base, as the country specializes in high quality and lower production runs. Whereas manufacturing in China is more suited to the retail industry which requires high volumes and lower quality.

In the 1990’s very few Western educational school suppliers ventured forth to purchase directly from Asia. Edx Education was highly successful in being the “go to” for Western school suppliers in sourcing from Asian manufacturers. We made it easy for foreign companies to buy direct from Asia. Quite fortuitous being in the right place at the right time!

School supply companies from North America and the UK approached Edx Education to source and private label their products. This business established a strong base to move forward into other markets and for Edx Education to develop its own branded product range.

Over the past 20 years, Edx Education has grown into a major supplier to the international education market, exporting to more than 90 countries, with sales & marketing offices in North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia.

Edx Education has an on going program of developing innovative products and marketing under the Edx Education brand. We work with leading educators who advise on trends in education and the development of innovative new products.
